|Stickies||A simply must have desktop utility|
|The only place to get your computer gear|
|IrfanView||Possibly the best image viewer and manipulator.|
|A great computer news aggregation site. Create your own set of links to news sources.|
|My current e-mail provider. Give it a try.|
What else need one say?
Playing Roundabout . The "classic" line-up
Great trio, eh.
Their silly ode to an airport, YYZ
Progressive, classical, rock. Very hard to categorize.
A great song, Northern Lights
|Northern Lights||A Renaissance fan site, but much more informative.|
Yes, you read it correctly. Steel-EYE, not steel-EE. And it's SPAN, not DAN.
Their song, All Around My Hat
Far from their glory days but outstanding English electric folk.
A sampling of a few of their hits including Run For Home, Jukebox Gypsy, Fog on the Tyne, Call of the Wild

|FreewareFiles.com||"Your free software resource" (Their words, but true)|
(from their site)
OUR definition of FREEWARE is:
a fully functional program that the author or company allows anyone to use without asking for ANY payment for it. There should be
• NO request for money in the documentation.
• NO nag screens asking for payment or donations.
• NO time limit or disablement to any of its functions.
|ESET, LLC.||This is the antivirus software I use. It ain't free. I choose to use commercial software in this case because I don't want all of my emails to say "scanned by blah blah blah".|
|AVG||Freeware antivirus software. There's also a pay version.|
|Microsoft Security Essentials||Freeware antivirus software. (Freeware... Microsoft... who'd a guessed!)|
|avast!||Freeware antivirus software. There's also a pay version.|
|Kaskpersy Antivirus||Commercial antivirus software (not free)|
|Malwarebytes||This is the bad-boy that removes the worst of the worst. However, it's a lot more than just point-and-click. If you need this then it's because you're in deep doo-doo. Use sparingly. If you use this more than once a year, you're doing something wrong.|
|SpyBot Search and Destroy||
Not all that certain about the "spybot" thing but it does
remove a lot of junk that gets sprayed on your system whilst you're
surfing the intertubes.
Run this once a week.
Some redundancies with SS&D above but it should be run with it weekly.
That's the "pretty" name. It came into being under
the name CrapCleaner. Too bad because the old name
is far more descriptive.
Use this periodically (once a month) to keep excess debris to a minimum
|C'mon... if you can't figure this one out you shouldn't be here|
The uninstall for a program should, well, you know, uninstall and yet...
Use this and all the debris left over from crappy uninstallers will be gone.
Free and a pay version. Free works fine for me.
|KeePass Password Safe||
What have we come to when we need another software application
just to keep track of our passwords!? Well, get over it. We're there.
This program is free, easy to use, has all the features one could reasonably want and even some optional serious overkill for the paranoid amongst us.
|Auslogics Disk Defrag||
After some use, the hard drive of your computer will
start to look like a department store at Christmas -
full of stuff scattered everywhere.
Easing this problem is called "defragging" or defragmentation. It gets all of the "stuff" and puts it in order thereby making your system a little faster.
Run this once every 6 months or so.
Free for home use.
